MILLENNIUM CONFERENCE GUADALAJARA

Interview by Ignacio Davalos for Millennium Guadalajara.

Guadalajara .- A couple of days, present the vision of Patrick Charpenel , a patron and promoter Guadalajara contemporary art in which he stated that this expression is inclusive and critical . Here, we offer an interview with Lespa Avelina, a criticism that it diverges.

How do you perceive the contemporary art?
I think it's a trend that has come to greatly damage the way we perceive art and what we see in museums. Encourages a relativism according to which everything is art and all can be artists, simply build a discourse medium sustain any approach. It's sort of tyranny, where the art is what a group decide that it is.

Why is an expression tyrannical?
Because it is an imposition that must comply with other people. It is privileged and lazy artists who have supported the market and institutions to exercise power where it is not the critical attitude of the beholder. So it is tyrannical and it is mediocre at simplistic message.

You see contemporary art as an art for all, with criticism of the status quo in which we live?
Of course not. Is a child discourse, with secondary level where the criticism is entirely superficial and simplistic. If there is a real transgression to the political and social then we can not explain it is this device the most supports and promotes these expressions. His criticisms are childhood tantrums and before that, the oligarchy that marks the steps of society is very comfortable. So happy, they spend money on it, because it serves to avoid tax and social legitimacy.

What future do you see contemporary art?
fashion elite is where consumerism is exalted and pay exorbitant amounts of money where the buying is worth what you spend. For them, 'if you like, you do not understand, do not have the necessary background' I invite the public to express their opinion without fear. In the extent that we remove this yoke and say why not tell us and why, as we will evolve. It has done serious damage to the institutions, but it is a fad that will pass
